Tyreek Hill's agent believes that his client can work things out with the Miami Dolphins.
Drew Rosenhaus represents Hill and went on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday to explain the latest developments surrounding the wide receiver, who seemingly indicated his time with the Dolphins was through.
Following Miami's season-ending loss to the Jets in Week 18, Hill opened the floodgates for speculation about his future when he said, "I'm out, bro." Hill met with Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel earlier this week, and Rosenhaus believes his client remains faithful to the club.
"I think at the end of the day, he's committed to this Dolphin football team," Rosenhaus . "He had an excellent meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel. I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins, and I think he's the least guy that people should be worried about for this organization.
"They have many more worries. Tyreek Hill is not one of them."
The 2024 season was a frustrating one for both the Dolphins and Hill. The team missed the postseason for the first time in three years, with its first losing record since 2019, as Tua Tagovailoa missed six games. Hill had his worst production since his rookie season and wasn't named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
But as Rosenhaus noted, Hill suffered a wrist injury in a joint-practice session against the Washington Commanders in August and opted not to have surgery. Hill played all 17 games but went 11 straight contests without a 100-yard receiving performance. Prior to the postgame rant, Hill appeared to remove himself from the Jets game in the second half without having suffering a new injury.
Rosenhaus chalked up Hill's reaction and comments as an emotional response following months of struggle.
"Tyreek is very passionate," Rosenhaus said. "Anyone I've ever represented that was great was passionate, they cared. What you see with Tyreek is very genuine. He wants to win. It's not good enough for him not to make the playoffs. He's very passionate."
Grier and McDaniel were vague about what specifics they discussed other than to say Hill never specifically requested a trade during that talk. However, McDaniel did say he expressed his frustration to the receiver over pulling himself out of the lineup. The coach explained Tuesday that "it's not acceptable to leave the game, and it won't be tolerated in the future."
Rosenhaus believes Hill built up more than enough goodwill in Miami with his first two seasons there and that he shouldn't bear the full weight of a tough season or his brief frustration after its conclusion.
"Throw out the comments after the game," Rosenhaus said. "You're emotional. The guys on the team know Tyreek as a competitor. He's there for them.
"We represent 13 guys on the team -- not one of them has a complaint about Tyreek."
