Titans release former first-round CB Caleb Farley

The Tennessee Titans released former first-round pick Caleb Farley amid roster cutdowns on Tuesday, 国产外流网Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Farley, whom the Titans selected 22nd overall in the 2021 国产外流网Draft, played in just 12 games over three seasons in Tennessee, missing the entirety of 2023 due to a back injury that carried over from the previous campaign. He also tore his ACL in 2021.

A physical corner at Virginia Tech, Farley entered the 国产外流网having skipped the 2020 college season due to COVID concerns. Clubs were also concerned about his injury history and a back procedure he had before the draft.

Tennessee eschewed those concerns, selecting the corner in the first round, hoping to hit a home run. Instead, the injury issues persisted and he didn't play particularly well when on the field.

The Titans spent the offseason rebuilding their roster, including the corner crew, where the club imported veterans L鈥橨arius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie, and drafted Jarvis Brownlee in the fifth round.

As with most young players cut this week, Farley could find himself on a practice squad once the dust settles.
