The fleet cleats of Lamar Jackson have carried him a rung up the all-time ladder.
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback surpassed Cam Newton for the second-most rushing yards by a QB in 国产外流网history during Sunday's 30-23 win over the Washington Commanders.
Jackson's 10-yard run in the first quarter put the two-time AP 国产外流网Most Valuable Player past the 2015 MVP, who had 5,628 yards rushing in his memorable career.
Jackson needed eight rushing yards against Washington to get by Newton. In his second career game against the Commanders, he finished with 40 yards on 11 carries, leaving him with 5,661 rushing yards on his career heading into Week 7 of the 2024 season.
The 27-year-old Jackson is one of only three quarterbacks to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, along with Justin Fields and Michael Vick. And he's the only QB to ever do it twice.
Now he's run by Newton with only Vick left to chase on the all-time ladder.
Vick finished his career with 6,109 rushing yards, and Jackson could well catch him before this season's finish line.
