Raiders DT Christian Wilkins (foot) out indefinitely following surgery

There is no shortage of problems plaguing the Las Vegas Raiders.

Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who signed a massive free-agent contract with the club this spring, underwent surgery for a Jones Fracture and is out indefinitely, 国产外流网Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.

Wilkins will be headed to injured reserve, Rapoport added.

The Miami Dolphins' 2019 国产外流网Draft first-round pick hadn't missed a game since 2020 and played well over his first five games with the Raiders, but he's now lost for the foreseeable future and is the latest in a mounting number of issues for head coach Antonio Pierce's club.

Las Vegas fell to 2-3 on Sunday with a 34-18 loss to the Denver Broncos. Each of the Raiders' three defeats this season have come by double-digits.

Wilkins was injured in the loss and his running mate Maxx Crosby is dealing with a high ankle sprain, which has no doubt slowed a defense that's 28th in points allowed.

Las Vegas' offense is 24th in total offense and it's unclear who will start for the Raiders in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers after Gardner Minshew was benched against the Broncos.

Wide receiver Davante Adams has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury and has requested a trade.

All is not well in Vegas, with Wilkins' unfortunate news just the latest.

The 28-year-old signed a massive four-year, $110 million deal to leave Miami and head to Las Vegas. In five starts, he produced 17 tackles, two sacks and six QB hits.

Wilkins' loss, amid all the Raiders' other issues, will be a huge blow.
