One of Peyton Manning's favorite targets is joining the quarterback in the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.
Former tight end Dallas Clark, a key cog in Indy's offense for nine seasons, will be inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor during the 2024 season, team owner and CEO Jim Irsay announced on Monday. Clark's induction into the Ring of Honor will take place on Oct. 20, during Indy's game against the Miami Dolphins.
"The Colts have had a long and historic tradition of record-breaking tight ends and receivers, and Dallas Clark stands alongside all these greats who have worn the Horseshoe," Irsay said in a statement. "In today's game, tight ends have become so much more dynamic and important to the offensive side of the ball, and Dallas was one of the pioneers with his style of play. He was electrifying, tough and dependable on the field and a great teammate and person off the field. And he of course was a key piece in bringing Indianapolis its first world championship. I am so happy to welcome Dallas Clark into our Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor."
Clark sits as the Colts' all-time leader among tight ends in receptions (427) and receiving touchdowns (46). His 4,887 yards are the second-most for a TE in franchise history (John Mackey, 5,126).
The 2003 first-round pick paired with wide receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne to form a dynamic trio for Manning. Clark helped spearhead the Colts' Super Bowl XLI run, recording two 100-yard games in the 2006 playoffs, including a six-catch, 137-yard outing in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.
Clark earned first-team All-Pro honors and made his only career Pro Bowl in 2009, setting career highs with 100 catches for 1,106 yards and adding 10 touchdowns.
