After a decade away from the NFL, Jim Harbaugh is back. With his Los Angeles Chargers opening training camp at a brand spanking new team facility, Harbaugh wasted no time providing a quirky analogy.
"It's like New Year's Day. It feels like being born. It feels like coming out of the womb," he said Wednesday, "You're in there. It's comfortable and safe, and now you're out. You're born. Lights are on, it's bright, chaos, people looking at you, people talking at you, and it just feels good to have it happen."
Harbaugh last coached in the 国产外流网in 2014 with the San Francisco 49ers before heading to the University of Michigan for a decade, where he led the Wolverines to the national title.
Harbaugh's patented peculiar style might lead to head shakes outside the building, but his way with words resonates among players. Veteran Derwin James said the coach made the same birthing comparison during a team meeting and felt the "coming into the world" analogy was apt given the new regime.
"He's his own guy. We love him," James said.
Love or hate him, Harbaugh is and always will be his own guy.
