Injury roundup: 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (rib/oblique) expected to play vs. Buccaneers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is slated to play Sunday versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being listed as questionable with rib and oblique injuries, 国产外流网Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources.

Samuel was limited in all three practices this week due to the injuries, leading to the questionable designation on Friday. While these rib and oblique ailments were new, Samuel has dealt with his fair share of injuries so far this season. First it was a calf injury for Week 3 and 4, then a wrist injury that coincided with a bout of pneumonia-like symptoms that landed Samuel in the hospital ahead of Week 8, though he returned for that game.

Despite the various maladies, Samuel has only missed one game -- Week 3 versus the Rams -- and is not expected to miss another in Week 10.

Through seven games played, Samuel has 24 receptions for 406 yards and a touchdown, averaging 16.9 yards per catch.

If Samuel is indeed able to play as expected, he should be taking the field alongside Christian McCaffrey for the first time this season, as the running back is expected to make his season debut after missing the first eight games with Achilles and calf injuries.

The 49ers (4-4) and the Buccaneers (4-5) kick off at 1 p.m. ET.

Other injuries we are keeping an eye on ahead of Sunday's Week 10 games:

  • Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London, who is dealing with a hip pointer, is expected to play versus the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Rapoport reported. London is officially active.
  • Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper (wrist; questionable) will be ruled out against the Colts, per Rapoport. Cooper is officially inactive.
  • Chicago Bears guard Nate Davis (back) was added to the injury report Sunday and ruled out against the New England Patriots.
  • Detroit Lions defensive end Za'Darius Smith, who was traded to Detroit on Tuesday, is not expected to play versus the Houston Texans Sunday night, according to Rapoport.
  • Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (back) is expected to play versus the Detroit Lions Sunday night, per Rapoport. Wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) is a game-time decision after being activated off injured reserve on Saturday, Rapoport added.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers Gabe Davis (shoulder) and Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) are both expected to play versus the Minnesota Vikings, Rapoport reported. Both WRs are officially active.
