2022 ¹ú²úÍâÁ÷Íøseason, Week 5: Notable injuries, news from Sunday's games

Injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 5 Sunday:

  • Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (ribs) did not return versus the Eagles. Running back Darrel Williams (knee) did not return to the game.
  • Atlanta Falcons inside linebacker Mykal Walker (groin) did not return with a groin injury versus the Buccaneers.
  • Baltimore Ravens safety Marcus Williams suffered a dislocated wrist in Sunday night's game and is expected to miss a significant amount of time, head coach John Harbaugh said.
  • Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield was seen wearing a walking boot on his left foot after the game, and said they're "not sure exactly what it is," and he'll have it examined Monday to determine the injury. Cornerback Jaycee Horn (hip) did not return to the game versus the 49ers.
  • Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins had an early exit Sunday night due to an ankle injury.
  • Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward (concussion) was ruled out versus the Chargers.
  • Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz (knee; questionable) did not return versus the Rams.
  • Detroit Lions cornerback Saivion Smith (neck) was taken to a local hospital after being injured in the first quarter against the Patriots. Safety DeShon Elliott (cramping) returned to the game after being questionable.
  • Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring; questionable) did not return versus the Giants in London after exiting in the second half.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson (knee) did not return to the game versus the Texans. Offensive lineman Ben Bartch (knee) did not return to the game after being listed questionable.
  • Miami Dolphins quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was downgraded from questionable to out due to concussion protocols versus the Jets. Bridgewater was also evaluated for an elbow injury. Backup signal-caller Skylar Thompson entered the game at QB for the Dolphins. Offensive tackle Terron Armstead (toe) was ruled out in Sunday's game. Armstead will stay in New York to get his injury evaluated by a doctor, per head coach Mike McDaniel. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill (foot) did not return late in the fourth quarter.
  • Minnesota Vikings running back Ty Chandler did not return to the game due to a hand injury versus the Bears.
  • New England Patriots running back Damien Harris (hamstring) did not return to the game versus the Lions. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor did not return to the game due to a hamstring injury. Cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) did not return to the game for New England.
  • New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) was ruled out versus the Seahawks.
  • New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (shoulder) re-entered the game in the fourth quarter after being announced as questionable to return. Cornerback Adoree' Jackson (knee) was ruled out the rest of the game after initially being announced as questionable to return to start the second half.
  • New York Jets defensive end Jermaine Johnson II (ankle) was ruled out versus the Dolphins.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Steven Sims (eye) did return versus the Bills after sustaining the injury prior to kickoff. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (back) was ruled out for the rest of the game in Buffalo. Defensive back Levi Wallace did not return after being evaluated for a concussion. Cornerback Cam Sutton (hamstring) was ruled out. Tight end Pat Freiermuth (concussion) was ruled out for the rest of the game.
  • San Francisco 49ers safety Jimmie Ward (hand) was ruled out versus the Panthers, and head coach Kyle Shanahan later said Ward had broken his hand. Defensive end Nick Bosa (groin) was ruled out for the rest of the game in Carolina. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Bosa is dealing with some tightness and will have further testing Monday. Kicker Robbie Gould (left knee contusion) was downgraded from questionable to out against the Panthers. Shanahan said the fear is that cornerback Emmanuel Moseley has suffered a torn left ACL, but the team will do more tests to confirm the diagnosis.
  • Seattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny suffered a "serious" ankle injury versus the Saints, per head coach Pete Carroll. Penny suffered a fractured tibia and will have tests on Monday to determine associated damage to see if surgery is necessary, per ¹ú²úÍâÁ÷ÍøNetwork Insider Ian Rapoport.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis (hip) did not return versus the Falcons. Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting was ruled out for the rest of the game with a quad injury. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles did not have an update on Davis or Murphy-Bunting's status after the game.
  • Washington Commanders running back Jonathan Williams (knee) was ruled out versus the Titans.
