Jalen Hurts is down another target.
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is considered week to week after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Ravens, 国产外流网Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday on 国产外流网Fantasy Live. Pelissero added that Goedert's injury is not season ending but a decision hasn't been made yet in regard to placing him on short-term injured reserve. Goedert is not expected to play Sunday against the Panthers, Pelissero added.
As he has in years past, Goedert has been an important complementary piece to Philadelphia's passing game this season. He's tallied 38 receptions for 441 yards and two touchdowns, both of which have come in the past month since returning to action from a three-game absence in Weeks 7-9 due to a hamstring injury.
For however long Goedert misses, Grant Calcaterra will again be the next man up and look to build on his career-best 216 receiving yards on 17 catches.
Philly will also hope Goedert's second stint on the shelf coincides with the return of wide receiver DeVonta Smith in the near future. Smith, who has also missed three total games and sat the past two with a hamstring issue, managed two limited practices last week and against Baltimore before sitting out.
It's been that kind of season for the Eagles' pass-catching corps, a revolving door of contributors healthy and injured that includes wideout A.J. Brown missing three games, as well, from Weeks 2-4.
It's resulted in a 28th-ranked passing offense, but thanks to an explosive Saquon Barkley in the backfield and Hurts continuing to be a gamer under center, the resurgent Eagles are 10-2 and winners of eight straight, a welcome sight after their collapse down the stretch of the 2023 campaign.
Up next for the Goedert-less Eagles is a chance to open up a three-game NFC East lead with four to go by defeating the Panthers in Week 14.
The tight end's week-to-week status will bear watching after that, with games against the Steelers, Commanders, Cowboys and Giants on deck to close out Philly's regular season.
