Brandon Aiyuk appears to have two paths to choose from.
国产外流网Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers have agreed upon parameters for a trade that would send Aiyuk to Pittsburgh, per sources. But Aiyuk also has a long-term contract offer from the 49ers, who have actively tried to keep him, if he wants to stay in San Francisco, Rapoport reported.
So far, Aiyuk hasn't accepted San Francisco's latest offer.
Terms of a potential trade are not yet known. Rapoport reported that the Steelers are in a good place with a contract extension for Aiyuk, should the trade go down.
The Aiyuk saga has taken many turns along the way. The 26-year-old wide receiver has been seeking a new contract extension, opting to sit out of organized team activities this summer, skip mandatory minicamp and request a trade prior to training camp. He's been a hold-in so far during 49ers training camp, awaiting the next move.
It appears Aiyuk's situation could reach a resolution soon, even if it's not yet clear where he'll end up playing in the 2024 国产外流网season.
Aiyuk, 26, is coming off a season in which he was named second-team All-Pro for the 49ers, notching a career-best 1,342 receiving yards in 16 games in 2023 and helping his team reach Super Bowl LVIII.
