Niners WR Ricky Pearsall released from hospital after being shot in robbery attempt

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest during an attempted robbery Saturday, was released from the hospital on Sunday afternoon, the team announced.

"San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was released from the hospital this afternoon as he continues to recover from a bullet wound to his chest," the team said in a statement. "He and his family, along with the entire San Francisco 49ers organization, would like to thank the San Francisco Police Department, emergency medical services, doctors and staff at San Francisco General Hospital."

Pearsall had been listed as in "serious but stable condition" prior to his release on Sunday, per the team.

Pearsall's mother, Erin, said Sunday in a social media post that the bullet entered through her son's chest and exited out his back, missing vital organs.

"He is extremely lucky," Erin Pearsall wrote, . "...He is in good spirits right now."

Ricky Pearsall was shot on Saturday afternoon in an attempted robbery at Union Square in San Francisco. According to San Francisco Police, officers spotted Pearsall and another male suffering from injuries at approximately 3:37 p.m. PT. Both males were rendered aid and medics transported them to San Francisco General Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Police learned in the preliminary investigation that one of the injured parties had attempted to rob the other, Pearsall, per police. The suspect was taken into custody and charges are pending at this time, per police.

Pearsall, 23, was selected by the 49ers with No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 国产外流网Draft.
