Giants reveal commemorative patch in advance of franchise's 100th season

The 2024 season will be a special one for the New York Giants, regardless of on-field results.

The upcoming campaign will be the 100th for the franchise, which began play in 1925. The Giants will honor the landmark year with a special patch to be worn on their jerseys this season, which the team revealed Monday:

The new icon tells the story written by one of the NFL's oldest franchises over the last century, featuring a shield designed in the shape of the team's first home, the Polo Grounds, as well as zeroes in the shape of their former home, Giants Stadium, and eight football laces to honor the club's eight 国产外流网championships. The logo also includes a depiction of a Giants quarterback ready to fire a pass downfield, an image inspired by the team's classic logo showing a Giant throwing a pass over the skyline of New York City.

"I first saw the Giants play in person in the early 1960s when my father would take me to games at Yankee Stadium," Giants EVP and chairman Steve Tisch said in a statement released by the team Monday. "Going to Giants games was a wonderfully magical ritual. It inspired my lifelong love of the Giants. When my father became an equal partner of the Giants in 1991, it was the realization of a longtime dream. Our family has relished our association with the Giants and look forward to many years of success in the future."

The Giants will wear the patch on their uniforms for the entire 2024 season, which will include a number of special events dedicated to celebrating their 100th season.
