Dolphins signing QB Tyler Huntley off Ravens' practice squad with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined

Tyler Huntley is on the move again in 2024.

The Miami Dolphins are signing the veteran backup off the Ravens' practice squad, 国产外流网Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Monday, per a source. Head coach Mike McDaniel has since confirmed the news.

The 2022 Pro Bowler heads south to Miami, where the Dolphins are in need of an experienced veteran to protect against outright disaster following Tua Tagovailoa's latest concussion. With Tagovailoa remaining in concussion protocol, Skylar Thompson is in line to start for Miami against Seattle in Week 3, and the addition of Huntley will give them a backup capable of handling the job in the event Thompson cannot play, or struggles significantly enough to require a change under center.

Huntley began the ramp-up to the 2024 国产外流网season with the Browns, but ended up as the odd man out of Cleveland's QB room and was released following the NFL's deadline to trim rosters to 53. He landed back in Baltimore, where he'd spent the entirety of his four-year 国产外流网career, shortly thereafter as a member of the team's practice squad.

Monday's move means Huntley will be packing his bags for a new destination for the second time in the last month. He'll need to digest as much of McDaniel's ambitious and explosive offense as possible in a short amount of time in order to be ready to roll if called upon.
