Commanders-Eagles on Championship Sunday: What We Learned in Philadelphia's 55-23 win

Philadelphia Eagles 55, Washington Commanders 23

FULL BOX SCORE

Philadelphia is back in the big game following a one-year hiatus.

The Eagles defeated the rival Washington Commanders to qualify for Super Bowl LIX, the franchise’s fifth-ever trip to a Super Bowl and third in the past eight years.

Philly is now set to face the winner of the AFC Championship Game on Feb. 9 -- either the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Saquon Barkley got things going as he has all season, rumbling for 64 yards and two touchdowns on his first two carries of the game. He finished with three rushing TDs, as did Jalen Hurts, who notched a fourth score with a pass as the Eagles exploded for their most points ever scored in a conference title game.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels represented himself well to keep things within striking distance until the final frame, but four turnovers forced by the Eagles defense and special teams proved far too much to overcome.

Around the ¹ú²úÍâÁ÷Íøwill have more from Kevin Patra shortly.
