Bears, WR DJ Moore agree to terms on four-year, $110 million extension

DJ Moore's first season in Chicago was such as hit that the Bears are locking him up through 2029.

Moore and the Bears have agreed to terms on a four-year, $110 million extension with $82.6 million guaranteed, 国产外流网Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Chicago later announced the extension.

Moore will average $27.5 million across his four new years, which would be seventh among wide receivers currently, and his total value would be fifth -- though he still has two years remaining on his current deal.

The signing signifies the Bears' confidence in Moore and how that portends to aiding the maturation of quarterback Caleb Williams. It's also the latest sign that it pays very well to be a top-level wide receiver in the NFL, as Moore's deal follows other lucrative extensions such as the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, the Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown and plenty more. There's also likely more to come with the Dallas Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb, the San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk and the Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase angling for bigger paydays.

Tuesday belongs to Moore, though, who debuted for the Bears last season after he was acquired via trade with the Carolina Panthers. He didn't disappoint, posting the fourth 1,000-yard season of his six-year career with a career-high 1,364 yards. His 96 receptions and eight touchdowns were also tops in his tenure.

There's plenty of excitement surrounding the Moore-led WR corps, which now includes multi-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen, who was acquired in a trade this offseason, and rookie Rome Odunze, who was drafted eight spots after No. 1 overall pick Williams.

While Williams will still need to find a way to dispense the targets -- and don't forget tight end Cole Kmet -- Moore's extension is an emphatic statement in the franchise's belief in him being a star who will shine for seasons to come in Chi-Town.
