 Neil Reynolds' Week 10 Picks

With the last of the international games coming up this weekend, here are my picks for Week 10. After going 10-5 last week, including an upset special in the New York Jets over the Houston Texans, I am now 90-48 on the season.

Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) at Baltimore Ravens (6-3)

The first meeting was a classic and possibly the game of the season as Lamar Jackson’s Ravens out-lasted Joe Burrow’s Bengals with a 41-38 overtime win. But for a bad field goal snap, Cincy would have won that game. The Ravens won’t let it get that close on Thursday night.

Neil’s Pick… Baltimore

New York Giants (2-7) vs Carolina Panthers (2-7)

Bryce Young played one of the better games of his young and troubled career and heads to Germany off the back of a rare Carolina win. But the Giants have more difference-makers in this game, starting with Malik Nabers on offense and Dexter Lawrence on the defensive side.

Neil’s Pick… New York Giants

New England Patriots (2-7) at Chicago Bears (4-4)

Chicago have lost form in the past couple of weeks, which has been surprising given how good they looked in London; albeit against a struggling Jaguars squad. New England are talent-deficient outside of developing quarterback Drake Maye. This should be a “get right” game for the Bears.

Neil’s Pick… Chicago

Buffalo Bills (7-2) at Indianapolis Colts (4-5)

Despite their loss in Minnesota on Sunday night, I believe Joe Flacco offers the Colts the better chance to win right now. That said, neither Indianapolis quarterback has the magic to match the scoring prowess of the Bills, who are established as one of the serious contenders in this season.

Neil’s Pick… Buffalo

Minnesota Vikings (6-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)

We’re about to find out if the Jaguars have given up on their season because I believe they have enough playmakers to challenge the Vikings, especially at home. The main concern for the Jags will be how Trevor Lawrence copes when facing Brian Flores’ defense. That could decide things.

Neil’s Pick… Minnesota

Denver Broncos (5-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (8-0)

I have to applaud the way the Chiefs keep getting across the line with six of their eight wins coming by a single score. Patrick Mahomes is 12-1 in his career against the Broncos but faces a tough challenge this week as Vance Joseph looks to light him up with blitzes to test that injured ankle.

Neil’s Pick… Kansas City

Atlanta Falcons (6-3) at New Orleans Saints (2-7)

I would not expect an interim head coach bump here as Darren Rizzi takes over for the fired Dennis Allen in New Orleans. The two-win Saints are cooked and the Falcons, who are in a nice offensive groove should make it six victories from their last seven with a win at the Superdome.

Neil’s Pick… Atlanta

San Francisco 49ers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5)

The Bucs have lost three in a row, but they have scored at least 24 points in each contest during a tough run against Baltimore, Atlanta and Kansas City. That makes this a tricky road trip for San Francisco. Given they have little room for error, I expect the Niners to have their game faces on.

Neil’s Pick… San Francisco

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) at Washington Commanders (7-2)

This contest should prove to be one of the toughest tests yet for Washington rookie Jayden Daniels. But with the help of one of the league’s strongest running games, I think the Commanders can sneak past Pittsburgh at home. But this could go right down to the wire.

Neil’s Pick… Washington

Tennessee Titans (2-6) at Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)

Jim Harbaugh still loves to stuff the ball up the jumper and run time and time again. But he is a smart coach and he knows that the Chargers possess one of the NFL’s better quarterbacks in Justin Herbert. And that’s why LA’s passing game has featured more prominently in recent weeks.

Neil’s Pick… LA Chargers

New York Jets (3-6) at Arizona Cardinals (5-4)

This is going to be one of the more intriguing games of the weekend, in my opinion. Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson showed us some good stuff in Week 9 and the Cardinals have won three in a row. Watch out for Arizona’s D but I like the Jets on the road.

Neil’s Pick… New York Jets

Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) at Dallas Cowboys (3-5)

The wheels are coming off in Dallas and the Cowboys should hardly be surprised. They did very little to upgrade their roster heading into 2024 and now Dak Prescott is gone for a month. If it is Cooper Rush for that entire time, what does that say about former third overall pick Trey Lance?

Neil’s Pick… Philadelphia

Detroit Lions (7-1) at Houston Texans (6-3)

I’m such a big believer in the Lions that I don’t know if I will pick against them for the remainder of this season. On the ground or through the air, they are always going to get their points. And they seemingly always find a way to get the job done on defense, now adding Za’Darius Smith.

Neil’s Pick… Detroit

Miami Dolphins (2-6) at Los Angeles Rams (4-4)

I would love to have one last ride on the Miami Dolphins bandwagon before parking it away until 2025, but the Rams need this one more and Matthew Stafford is very hard to defend right now. I think Miami keep this close and scare the Rams, but they’re just not the same team in 2024.

Neil’s Pick… LA Rams
